Your first session (the intake) is largely about getting to know you. Your therapist will ask questions about your history, what brings you to therapy, and what you hope to achieve. It’s a completely judgment-free space designed to establish comfort and lay the groundwork for your personalized care plan.

That is incredibly common and perfectly okay! You don't need to have a script prepared. Our psychologists are highly trained to guide the conversation, ask the right prompts, and help you untangle your thoughts at a pace that feels safe for you.

Therapy is highly individualized. Some clients find clarity and tools to manage specific stressors in 8 to 12 sessions (brief therapy), while others prefer ongoing, long-term support for deeper trauma or personal growth. Your therapist will discuss a timeline with you after your initial assessment.

A strong therapeutic relationship is the biggest predictor of success. You should feel heard, respected, and safe. If after a few sessions you don't feel that connection, please let us know. We actively encourage finding the right fit and will seamlessly help you transfer to another expert on our team.
